For his design of a unipolar programmable low voltage switch made with the Arduino micro-controller platform Kamil Woronowski, M.Sc. Eng., received the Siemens Award for Outstanding Dissertation. Graduate of the GUT Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering was joined by Karolina Drobotowicz, B.Sc. Eng., and Wiktor Szulfer, B.Sc. Eng., who were awarded for designing a mind controlled maze game.
Woronowski prepared his dissertation under the supervision of Jarosław Guziński, Ph.D., from the Department of Controlled Electric Drives. Drobotowicz and Szulfer, graduates of the GUT Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics, were supervised by Prof. Stanisław Raczyński from the Department of Automatic Control.
To participate in the contest, the dissertation has to be dedicated to sensors, controllers, actuators or automation visualization systems. The main prize is worth 10 000 PLN (c. 2 500 EUR).
