Prof. Piotr Dominiak from the Faculty of Management and Economics, the GUT vice-rector for internationalization and innovation, and Prof. Zbigniew Krzemiński from the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics received the Minister of Science and Higher Education 2018 awards for scientific and didactic achievements, granted to the best Polish academics.
Prof. Dominiak's scientific activity focuses on the economy of small and medium-sized enterprises as well as the role of entrepreneurship in economy. He is an author of over 120 original articles and supervised 19 PhD candidates, 6 of which have received their habilitation (postdoctoral degree).
Prof. Zbigniew Krzemiński supervised 15 PhD candidates, 9 of which have already received habilitation. He reviewed multiple publications, including a monograph and 90 articles in national and international journals. His scientific interests consider modeling and simulating power electronics systems and converter drives using digital signal processors.
The awards were handed during a ceremony which took place in the Łazienki Palace in Warsaw. More information regarding the prizes and videos presenting the laureates can be found on the ministry website (in Polish).
The Minister of Science and Higher Education awards are granted every year for outstanding scientific achievements, individual and team didactic accomplishments, as well as successes in administration. There is also a prize for lifetime achievement. This year, 69 scientists were awarded.
