The Europe's largest event for young innovators, Expo Sciences Europe (ESE), will be held in Poland for the first time – from the 16th to the 22nd of July in Gdynia. Gdańsk University of Technology is the partner of the event.
Expo Sciences Europe (ESE) has been organized throughout Europe every two years since 1996. The main organizer of the fair is the non-governmental, non-profit organization called MILSET – International Movement for Leisure Activities in Science and Technology, which aims to develop scientific culture and promote innovation among young people. Until now, the hosts of ESE were the Czech Republic, Portugal, France, Belgium, Russia, Spain, Slovakia, Germany and Hungary, among others.
The first ESE event in Poland will be held on July 16-22 at the Pomeranian Science and Technology Park in Gdynia and the Gdynia Arena. The Foundation for Advanced Technologies, which has been organizing the E(x)plory Scientific Competition for seven years, will be responsible for the event on-site. The fair is hosted by Gdynia – a city friendly to innovation and young innovators. Gdańsk University of Technology is the partner of the event.
339 participants from 29 countries around the world have applied to participate in the ESE this year. 135 innovative projects will be showcased at the fair. Poland will be represented by the finalists of the E(x)plory Scientific Competition, who were selected during last year's event finale – Gdynia E(x)plory Week 2017.
The ESE program includes the opportunity to learn about various scientific projects carried out by young people from all around the world, technological innovations, inventions and facts from the world of science. The event will be open to visitors. Participants will be accommodated in the dormitories of Gdańsk University of Technology.
During the fair the participants will be able to visit the stand of Gdańsk University of Technology in the Gdynia Arena, where they will have an opportunity to learn about the educational offer of the university for the candidates from abroad.
On Wednesday, July 18th at 14:30-15:00 Krzysztof Malicki, rector's representative for commercialization and president of the board of the Gdańsk University of Technology EXCENTO special-purpose vehicle will give a lecture about innovations in the Gdynia Arena.
