Journal Policy

The project is aimed at building a database of publishing policies of Polish scientific journals. A team consisting of the Library employees of Gdańsk University of Technology is developing a digital platform that will collect and analyse publishing policies in terms of open access, copyright management and the use of the content of publications by both authors and users. The information in the database is presented in full compliance with the assumptions adopted by the editorial team and publisher of the journal. The data is collected based on publicly available information as well as direct contact with the editorial team or publisher. This contact is aimed at obtaining and supplementing the information required for accurate and reliable presentation of the journal’s profile in the database being created.

The resulting database is non-commercial and available to all users free of charge. The target audience of the database are mainly members of the research community: research workers, doctoral students and students. The database is also a convenient tool that allows academic librarians, especially those involved in the development of institutional repositories, to define the rules for Green Open Access.

The database is part of a broader project, i.e. MOST DANYCH, co-financed by 3 universities from the Tricity area (Gdańsk University of Technology, University of Gdańsk and Medical University of Gdańsk) and the European Regional Development Fund as part of priority axis II under the Operational Programme Digital Poland 2014-2020, Measure 2.3.
