Twelve Polish universities have been ranked in this year's edition of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, and Gdańsk University of Technology is one of them.
Prepared by the British magazine "The Times Higher Education", the THE World University Ranking is one of the most highly valued and opinion-forming classifications regarding higher education. This year it listed 1102 colleges and universities from all over the world.
Institutions are evaluated on the basis of five factors, including education, internationalization, research, citation and publication rates as well as business cooperation. Only universities which have published at least one thousand articles in journals indexed by the international Scopus database over the last five years can be included in the ranking.
Just like last year, the University of Oxford was ranked first.
Gdańsk University of Technology and other Polish universities, including Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, University of Silesia and University of Wrocław, were listed between places number 801 and 1000.
The complete ranking can be found on the THE World University Rankings website.
