What does VUCA actually mean? It is an abbreviation coined from the following words: Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity. New postgraduate studies offered by the Faculty of Management and Economics prepare students to navigate in such a world.
The VUCA world is full of local and global challenges that, together with the development of the digital revolution, are more and more difficult to predict and require constant adoption and change. The aim of the studies is to prepare the participants to carry out a complex transformation of their own organisation towards agility. Such a transformation should consist in the implementation of an agile approach for the initiatives launched. It also applies to large projects where the Scrum approach is not sufficient, and where scaled solutions, such as the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), are needed. The participants will also learn how to shorten the time of introducing IT solutions on the market and how to continuously provide value for business.
It is a unique major, as the studies will be conducted entirely in English!
During the studies, the participant will be able to gain knowledge in such areas as:
• adaptation to the VUCA world
• preparation of the organisation for change (transformation)
• agile leadership and management 3.0
• simplification of IT organisation in line with the Lean approach
• establishment of well-functioning agile Scrum teams
• scaling of agile solutions to the needs of large organisations (including international ones) based on the Scaled Agile Framework (SAF) methodology
• implementation of DevOps and CI/CD approaches in IT projects
The classes will be conducted by people with many years of practical and didactic experience. All lecturers have already participated or are now involved in agile transformations of the organisations they work for or advise. Moreover, they take part (assuming various roles) in initiatives based on agile approaches (including but not limited to Scrum) and scaled methodologies such as the Scaled Agile Framework. They also use DevOps and CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) approaches to constantly provide value for the organisations.
The head of the studies is dr inż. Sebastian Wilczewski (email@example.com). The coordinator of the studies is Joanna Gryczka (tel.: +48 58 347 14 28; e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org)
