Gdańsk University of Technology as one of only four Polish universities and the only technical university nationwide was ranked among the thousand best higher education institutions in the world in the brand new edition of the prestigious Times Higher Education World University Rankings. GUT advanced from a 1000+place, which was the greatest promotion among all universities in Poland.
THE World University Ranking encompasses 5% of the best universities worldwide. It is one of the most recognized and valued university rankings, based on five criteria: teaching, research, citations, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
The University of Oxford was ranked first among 1400 of more than 26 000 universities from 92 countries, with the California Institute of Technology and the University of Cambridge coming second and third, respectively. From more than 400 universities operating in Poland only the Jagiellonian University, the University of Warsaw and Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznan made it to the top 1000 along Gdańsk University of Technology.
