One in three women worldwide has experienced some form of gender-based violence or abuse at least once in her lifetime. This reality reminds us that academia is not exempt from such dynamics. During the webinar, we will briefly explore the root causes and underlying factors of gender-based violence, and discuss how to become effective allies in addressing it especially within academic environments. In addition, we will present the development of an online course designed to raise awareness and promote action on this critical issue.
Introducing Lunchinars about diversity: Bite-Sized Learning for Everyone. Lunchinars are bite-sized learning sessions open to everyone—whether you are a student, staff member, or lifelong learner.
What Are ENHANCE Lunchinars? Each session lasts one hour, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, and is free to join online.
Expected learning outcomes
Offered by the ENHANCE Diversity Office, these sessions bring the expertise of our European University to our community, fostering critical thinking and stimulating public debate.

Learning opportunity structure
Formats Designed for Engagement: Each session includes 30–45 minutes of expert input in different formats such as webinar presentations, interviews, or panel discussions with several experts, followed by a discussion and Q&A session with the audience. In total, the session takes 60 minutes.
Quality assurance
The two-level mutual trust-based quality assurance scheme has been adopted:
- At the university level: RWTH Aachen has applied its internal quality assurance procedures and structures to the proposal of ENHANCE Lunchinars - Webinar Series about Diversity (Several dates) it submitted to ENHANCE and to its implementation – the related learning activities.
- At the Alliance level: the body composed of Education Officers has made decisions regarding the inclusion of ENHANCE Lunchinars - Webinar Series about Diversity (Several dates) proposed by RWTH Aachen to the Innovative Learning Campus part of the joint ENHANCE educational offer, based on the compliance with the formal requirements and ENHANCE goals.
