Suhas Surya Narayana Murthy
During my three-month ENHANCE research internship at Gdańsk University of Technology, I had one of the most pleasant and educational experiences of my career. The city of Gdańsk is incredibly welcoming, and its rich history made my stay even more special. I was particularly grateful for the support of my mentor, Dr. Michał Wodtke, who ensured a perfect balance between research work and exploring the city and nearby places. Thanks to ENHANCE, I was able to improve my research skills and contribute to strengthening the collaboration between our universities.

My stay at Gdańsk University of Technology was full of fun and learning. Three months felt like such a short time and flew by very quickly. It was exciting and motivating to conduct hands-on experiments and learn new techniques with my mentor.
After working in the laboratory, I spent my evenings exploring the city and nearby places. Gdańsk is one of my favourite cities I have lived in. I am very grateful to ENHANCE for providing me with this opportunity.

I recently began a three-month research internship at ETH Zürich through the ENHANCE Research Internship Programme in the Institute of Microbiology, in the laboratory of Prof. Markus Künzler.
My project focuses on applying the PELSA approach in Saccharomyces cerevisiae to identify potential off-target proteins of the Topoisomerase II inhibitors developed during my doctoral research. This work allows me to gain deeper insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying the activity of these compounds.
The internship provides an excellent opportunity to expand my expertise in advanced proteomic and molecular techniques while integrating my background in antifungal drug discovery. Working in the highly collaborative and stimulating research environment at ETH Zürich has already been a very valuable experience.
I am grateful to Prof. Markus Künzler for hosting me in his laboratory and for his scientific guidance. I also sincerely thank Prof. Iwona Gabriel from my home university for her supervision and continued support of this research collaboration. I additionally appreciate the ENHANCE Research Internship Programme team for facilitating this opportunity and promoting international research collaboration.
