What you stand to gain?
Financial bonuses are awarded for publishing an article in 2026 in a scientific journal that meets the following conditions:
a) it is in the top five percentiles (99%–95%) of its category according to the Scopus classification;
b) the status of this journal as one of the world's best scientific periodicals is confirmed by the highest possible score (200 points) in the current list of scientific journals of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education;
c) the scientific discipline assigned to the journal in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education list indicated in § 2(1)(b) is subject to evaluation by the Science Evaluation Committee at Gdańsk University of Technology.
2. The bonus is not awarded in situations where:
a) the publication of the article does not increase the University's publication output, which will be taken into account in the evaluation of the quality of scientific activity for the period 2026-2030, due to the earlier filling of the slot limit by all authors of this publication from the University; or
b) it has been established/confirmed that the publication was created as a result of actions contrary to the principles of publication ethics (including, among others, the use of so-called paper mills, fictitious co-authorship, the use of citation farms/cooperatives and methods known as “sneaked references” or activities within the framework of so-called publication cooperatives).
3. The financial bonus for an article is PLN 20,000 gross if the journal is in the 99th percentile, PLN 15,000 gross if the journal is in the 98–97th percentile, and PLN 12,000 gross if the journal is in the 96–95th percentile.
4. In the case of an application for a publication bonus for a review paper, the amount of the bonus specified in section 3 is 50% of the bonus corresponding to a scientific article.
5. The financial bonus is awarded to all authors of publications who are employees of the University and who have not reached their slot limit, or who are doctoral students at the University, provided that the article mentions the author's affiliation with the University.
In the case of: a) a single author from the University – they receive the entire bonus;
b) a larger number of co-authors from the University – the bonus is divided between them on the basis of creative contributions, declared in Moja PG, resulting from a joint statement by the co-authors or, in the absence of such a statement, on the basis of equal contributions;
c) a single author from the University of a multi-author publication, where the co-authors represent foreign universities/institutions – the bonus for a given publication is 1/3 of the bonus amount in accordance with section 3;
d) fewer co-authors from the University than the number of co-authors representing foreign universities/institutions – the bonus for a given publication is 1/2 of the bonus amount in accordance with section 3. The bonus is divided between the co-authors from the University on the basis of creative contributions, declared in Moja PG, resulting from a joint statement by the co-authors or, in the absence of such a statement, on the basis of equal contributions.
The bonus for a doctoral student, participant of the PG Doctoral School/PG Implementation Doctoral School, for participation in a multi-author publication is awarded only if the subject matter of the publication is related to the subject matter of the doctoral thesis carried out at the PG Doctoral School/PG Implementation Doctoral School.
