ACE2-EU: Collaboration and Knowledge Exchange in Gdańsk

From May 14 to 16, 2025, the Medical University of Gdańsk hosted the international ACE2-EU conference, focused on aligning the activities of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) with the strategic goals of the ACE2-EU alliance. The event brought together representatives of partner's institutions also members of Daniel Fahrenkeit Association, and other Europen University Alliance. In his opening remarks, Professor Michał Markuszewski, Rector of the Medical University of Gdańsk, emphasized the importance of international cooperation and the social responsibility of science. The first day featured presentations from ACE2-EU partner institutions and discussions on potential collaboration within the Fahrenheit Universities Association.

The second day focused on sharing best practices in managing European university alliances. Representatives from the University of Gdańsk (SEA-EU) and Gdańsk University of Technology (ENHANCE) presented their approaches to governance and strategic planning.
A key panel session, “Challenges and Opportunities for Alliances,” explored opportunities for collaboration between ACE2-EU and the Fahrenheit Association, including shared training programs and project management strategies.
The conference culminated in a meeting of the ACE2-EU board, where strategic plans were finalized, with particular emphasis on integrating NAWA initiatives within the alliance framework. Attendees also participated in Diversity Day, organized by the GUMed Internationalization Office – a celebration of global cultures and academic diversity.
The “ACE2-EU – Challenges and Opportunities” conference reinforced GUMed’s role as an engaged member of the international academic community. It contributed to building lasting partnerships and joint educational and research initiatives within the ACE2-EU alliance.
