Results - ENHANCE Research Internship

hands

Gdańsk University of Technology is pleased to announce the results of the ENHANCE Research Internship Programme selection process. The initiative aims to strengthen research-based education, promote international mobility, and foster collaboration within the ENHANCE Alliance universities.

Doctoral Students

The Committee received nine doctoral applications in total: seven from Gdańsk Tech doctoral candidates applying for research internships abroad, and two from doctoral candidates from ENHANCE Alliance universities applying for internships at Gdańsk Tech.

Following a thorough evaluation, the Committee selected four outgoing and two incoming doctoral projects for funding.

Master’s Students

The Committee received three proposals submitted by RWTH Aachen students interested in a research stay at Gdańsk University of Technology.

All applications met the eligibility criteria set out in the ENHANCE Research Internship Programme Regulations. Each proposal was individually evaluated by all Committee members in accordance with the evaluation criteria specified in §4 of the Regulations. The final score for each proposal was calculated as the mean value of scores assigned by individual committee members.

Ranking of Applications
Proposed Research Topic Final Score
(max 100)
Rank Recommendation for Financing
Numerical investigation of the effects of lubricant aging on the performance of hydrodynamic bearings in offshore machinery. 96.5 1 Yes
Underground Hydrogen Storage and Germany Energy Transition Policy Strategy: Assessing the role of technological advancements and sustainability-oriented government policies for underground hydrogen storage systems. 92.3 2 Yes
Synthesis of a highly active MOF catalyst for ammonia electro-oxidation. 91.3 3 Yes
Committee Recommendations
  1. Due to the high quality of applications, the Committee recommends funding all three projects within the ENHANCE Research Internship Programme.
  2. Considering time constraints and the limited mobility capacity of Master’s students, the Committee does not recommend launching an additional call for Master’s students. Instead, it advises organizing an additional call for PhD candidates and reallocating the remaining funds to doctoral mobility.
  3. The Committee recommends that Gdańsk Tech Study Regulations be amended to facilitate long-term mobility of Master’s and Bachelor’s students in the future.

📅 Internship period: 1 December 2025 – 31 August 2026
💡 Funded participants will receive detailed information on administrative and financial procedures soon.
