The ENHANCE Summit 2025
The ENHANCE Summit 2025 has wrapped up in Warsaw, bringing together students, academics, researchers and staff from nine leading European Universities of Technology. Hosted by the Warsaw University of Technology with generous support from the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA), this year’s edition (Dec 2–4) marked a major moment in ENHANCE’s five-year journey (yes — we’re celebrating!) and in the ongoing transformation towards a more connected, innovative and competitive European Higher Education Area.
A fleet gaining momentum
This year’s Summit revolved around the symbol of a paper boat — a simple object that, once part of a fleet, travels farther and faster thanks to shared direction and energy. During workshops, discussions and community activities, participants folded their own boats, each capturing a personal viewpoint, experience and ambition. Together, these boats formed the growing “ENHANCE fleet”, illustrating how our Alliance unites universities, cultures and disciplines to move Europe forward — collectively and with purpose.
ENHANCE Conversations 2025
The Summit’s highlight, ENHANCE Conversations 2025, focused on a crucial theme: “Boosting European Competitiveness: The Strategic Role of Universities of Technology.”
The discussion explored how cross-border alliances like ENHANCE can reinforce Europe’s technological sovereignty, bridge education with innovation more effectively, and help secure Europe’s competitive edge on the global stage.

Co-creating what comes next
Across three days, participants shared ideas that will guide ENHANCE into its next phase — from new mobility and education models to joint learning opportunities and fresh approaches to Europe’s key challenges. Workshops, interviews and student-led contributions echoed a clear message: Europe moves forward when we move forward together.
Just like the expanding paper fleet displayed throughout the venue, ENHANCE’s power lies in the creativity and diversity of its community. Warsaw became a space where new collaborations emerged instantly, and ideas transitioned into concrete initiatives. The photos accompanying this article capture some of these moments — from co-creation sessions on future learning, to collaborative content development, to promising project concepts that will benefit students, staff and academics across the Alliance. The energy was unmistakable: when our universities join forces, innovation follows immediately.
