Are you ready for your intercultural journey abroad?

As students from diverse backgrounds begin their journey to study abroad, administrative procedures are a necessary part of the process. However, a crucial question remains: Are students adequately prepared for an extended stay in another culture?

This workshop is designed to prepare all outgoing students for their intercultural journey to an ENHANCE university or another university outside the ENHANCE network.

Please note that this seminar does not cover administrative topics. Instead, it specifically focuses on intercultural sensitivity. Upon completion, participants can receive an ENHANCE certificate if desired.

Acquire new skills

Develop essential skills in intercultural sensitivity and prepare yourself for your journey abroad. Connect with other outgoing students from ENHANCE universities.

When?

The workshop is offered on various dates from 16:00 to 18:00 CET. Choose your preferred date in the registration form. We recommend selecting the date closest to your departure date.

Minimum number of participants

A minimum of 30 participants is required to run the seminar successfully. There is no maximum number of participants due to the online format.

Not only for Erasmus+ mobilities!

The offer is open to all students going abroad from a university of the ENHANCE Alliance to another university. This can be a university within the ENHANCE Alliance or another university outside the Alliance. We welcome all students participating in an educational mobility activity abroad. This may include Erasmus+, the ENHANCE EEP programme, or any other form of funding.

Ideal timing for the training

While the training is ideally completed before departure, it remains relevant even if attended a few weeks after your arrival at the host university.

This is an ENHANCE Alliance offer

Coordinated by the ENHANCE Work Package Diversity, Impact, and Dissemination.

Also consider the "Anti-Bias Lunch Break" as a follow-up offer

Following the pre-departure training, consider attending the "Anti-Bias Lunch Break" as a follow-up activity. This highly recommended 60-minute session addresses implicit biases, microaggressions, intersectionality, and a practical three-step approach. Facilitated by the ENHANCE Ombudsperson, it aims to raise awareness and provide practical tools for managing unconscious biases. Find upcoming sessions here:

💬 Participant's quote

"This seminar made me reflect on things I hadn’t considered before – like cultural misconceptions, my own biases, and how identity shapes interactions. It was interactive and eye-opening, and gave me the tools to navigate cultural differences with more confidence during my study abroad."
