What is ENHANCE?

Together with nine other leading technical universities and long-term strategic partners, TU Berlin forms the European alliance ENHANCE - European Universities of Technology Alliance. The ten partners pursue the vision of a European campus that provides students with a broad range of international learning and exchange opportunities.

What are the GEPs?

The GEPs are a joint exchange programme run by the ENHANCE Alliance. They are aimed at students who are interested in comprehensively internationalising their own curriculum beyond the regular semester abroad, e.g. by combining a semester abroad with a thesis abroad, an international summer school and/or another semester abroad.

In selected GEPs (currently only Urban Planning, more to follow), so-called ‘Thematic Paths’ are offered. These are course packages on specific topics that are jointly curated by the participating academic coordinators. They are aimed at students who are interested in a subject-focused exchange programme, preferably in combination with, for example, an international thesis.

What are the programme's benefits?

  1. European mobility: One or two semesters abroad at participating ENHANCE partner universities funded through Erasmus+.
  2. More opportunities: Combine your semester abroad with optional additional offers such as an international summer/winter school or international online courses from the ENHANCE Innovative Learning Campus (ILC).
  3. Focus on career and research: Have your thesis supervised internationally and gain insights into research at Europe's leading technical universities.
  4. Automatic recognition: Many courses have already been pre-approved, so recognition is guaranteed (see the box ‘Pre-emptive Recognition’ on the right; IMPORTANT: be sure to select the right tab for your degree programme in the relevant Excel table!).
  5. European prestige: Obtain a final certificate attesting to your successful participation in the programme.
  6. Additional exchange places: Additional exchange places have been agreed with the ENHANCE partners exclusively for the GEPs.

"Mobility for All"

As an Alliance, it is our aim to create inclusive mobility programmes for all students. We therefore strongly encourage students with little or no experience in international mobility programmes to apply for our programmes. Everyone deserves the opportunity to broaden their horizons through international education. Contact us for support on your educational journey.

Information on support options and services offered by the various ENHANCE partners for students with special needs can be found on our ENHANCE website "Mobility for All".

Students participating in the EEP receive an Erasmus scholarship from TU Berlin. This offers additional funding opportunities for students with fewer opportunities ("fewer opportunities top-up"). Further information can be found on the Erasmus website under "Erasmus+ Mobility Grants & Top-ups".
