📅 Key Dates

  • Application period: 1 August – 30 September 2025

  • Ranking publication: 31 October 2025

  • Appeal period: 7 days from ranking announcement

  • Internship period: 1 December 2025 – 31 August 2026

Programme Overview

The internship programme aims to strengthen research-based education, foster academic mobility, and enhance collaboration within the ENHANCE Alliance, which includes:

The program offers three-month outbound and inbound research opportunities as follows:

  • 4 for Gdańsk Tech Master’s students (to go abroad)

  • 4 for Gdańsk Tech PhD students (to go abroad)

  • 4 for incoming Master’s students to Gdańsk Tech

  • 4 for incoming PhD students to Gdańsk Tech

Internship participation requires maintaining student or PhD candidate status and compliance with all legal and academic requirements of the host university.

Role of the Mentor:

Each intern is required to work under the guidance of two academic mentors—one from the home institution and one from the host university. The mentor will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the student in preparing the Internship Proposal, including the definition of research goals and methodological framework

  • Endorsing the proposal as an academic supervisor

  • Providing research guidance during the internship period

  • Reviewing and commenting on the student’s final evaluation report

Mentors play a key role in supporting both groups, guiding students through the preparation of their research project plans, fostering cross-institution collaboration, and overseeing project development. Mentors are expected to help students design a high-quality research project aligned with their academic goals and in coordination with a mentor from the host institution.

List of mentors from Gdańsk Tech is available here.

Application Process

Applicants must prepare a research proposal including:

  1. Research topic justification

  2. Research goals/hypotheses

  3. Methodological framework

  4. Potential research impact

  5. Expected learning outcomes

  6. Justification of mentor selection

Projects may be prepared in one of two ways:

Joint development and approval of the project — in cooperation with a mentor from the home institution and a mentor from the host university.

Preparation of the project plan with a mentor from the home institution- which will then be reviewed and approved by a mentor from the host university.

Applications must be submitted via the dedicated online portals:

Master Students Application

PhD Students Application

Due to the strong appeal of this internship opportunity, we anticipate more student applications than available placements. The internship proposals will be evaluated by the ENHANCE Research Internship Committees, and selected students will receive funding based on a transparent ranking process. Upon successful completion, students will receive a certificate confirming the acquired learning outcomes.

Reporting & Completion

Interns must submit a final post-stay report that summarises their research outcomes, acquired skills, and the expected impact of their research. A positive evaluation will result in the award of a completion certificate.

Funding & Mobility

Each internship includes a financial grant. Grants vary depending on the host university and the applicant’s status (Master's or PhD). The grant amounts are available in the ENHANCE Research Internship Programme Regulations.

The initiative is governed by the💡ENHANCE Research Internship Programme Regulations💡
