Let’s share kindness. St. Nicholas Day in front of the Main Building

Santa Claus
Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, Rector of Gdańsk Tech, invites the entire academic community to celebrate St. Nicholas Day in a small tent city on the square in front of the Main Building, on 6 December (Tuesday). Let’s have a meeting over a cup of tea and gingerbread at the Christmas tree, and share kindness. The Rector announces rector’s hours (no classes) from 12 a.m. to 1 p.m. on that day.

There will be hot winter tea, non-alcoholic mulled wine and gingerbread game prepared and waiting for you on the square in front of the Main Building from 11:45 a.m. The Rector will turn on the Christmas lights on the Christmas tree at 12:15 p.m. Our DJ will select the most beautiful and the merriest Christmas songs from all around the world and invite you to request a song you wish to hear. There will also be a chance for everyone to dedicate the selected song to their friends.

We also plan to break the record for the longest paper chain, which will then be hung on our Christmas tree. You absolutely have to join us even for a few minutes – each paper strip counts!

Expect a visit from the Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden. Who knows what they will bring!

In the pre-Christmas atmosphere, we will also share with those in need. We invite you all to take part in the collection of items and fundraising. Gifts will be collected from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in two tents set up in front of the Main Building: 1) for those in need from Ukraine and 2) for homeless animals.

Support Ukrainian children together with UNICEF

Under the aegis of UNICEFU we are planning a fundraising in collection boxes. The raised money will be donated for the children in Ukraine. You can also donate online through the foundation’s website

The needs are considerable

Together with the Foundation Gdańsk Helps (Gdańsk Pomaga), we encourage you to bring hygiene products and food products with a long shelf life, which will be donated to refugees from Ukraine in need, who live in Gdańsk.

Homeless animals need help

Due to the difficult financial situation, more and more people give their pets to shelters. Food, blankets, leashes, toys – these are the items most needed at the shelter named "Promyk" (a branch of the Gdańsk Zoological Garden). Let's help animals survive the hardest winter months.

Donate bone marrow

In the Main Building, there will be a campaign to register potential donors of bone marrow and stem cells as part of the Helper's Generation student project. By registering in the database, you can really save someone's life. DKMS Foundation invites you from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to the hall on the ground floor.

Noble Gift

Nobel Gift action is still on. You can bring items previously selected from the list of needs of the family we support on 5 and 6 December, to Hydromechanics building. At the same time, we are collecting money and really little left to reach the total amount!

Let the St. Nicholas Day be an opportunity for all of us to take a break from work and study, meet together and join forces to give support to those who need it.

See you on 6 December!
