Gdańsk city
On the birthday of the famous scientist of Gdańsk, enrolment for the second edition of the Mayor of Gdańsk's Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit Scholarship Programme for international PhD students is starting!

Young researchers submitting their applications will compete not only for a one-year scholarship, but also for accommodation in the centre of Gdańsk. Applications may be submitted by persons who are preparing a doctoral dissertation at a foreign university and are authors or co-authors of a scientific publication. The winners will continue their interdisciplinary research as part of their doctoral dissertation at one of the Fahrenheit Universities, which comprise the largest higher education institutions in northern Poland as their members.

The scholarship programme will be best described by the current interns: Anna, a PhD student from the University of Crete, Maria from the University of Pernambuco in Brazil, and Stabak, a PhD student from the Tripura University in India.
The rules, details and application form are available at https://faru.edu.pl/pl/stypendia

Her research work pertains to the design, synthesis and analysis of new layered photocatalysts based on a double hydroxide.

Maria is doing her internship at the Gdańsk University of Technology. The main research object is obtaining new catalysts based on metal-organic compounds, the characteristics of those catalysts and the measurements of photocatalytic activity in the hydrogen generation process.

Stabak is studying the operation of rail transport in the urban area of Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot, and the use of geospatial and geostatistical applications for that purpose.
