Gdańsk Tech among the most popular universities chosen by prospective students
In this year's ranking of public universities most frequently chosen by candidates (according to the total number of applications for full-time first-cycle and uniform master's degree programmes), the Gdańsk University of Technology, with 33,162 applications, ranked fourth after the University of Warsaw (48,749 candidates), the Jagiellonian University (36,808) and the Warsaw University of Technology (33,363), with only 201 more people applying to the last of the mentioned universities than to Gdańsk Tech. It should be emphasised that the University of Warsaw and the Jagiellonian University are the largest universities in Poland, and the Warsaw University of Technology has significantly more students than Gdańsk Tech (approx. 14,000).
The most popular majors at the Gdańsk University of Technology in terms of the number of applications per place are successively:

- Economic Analytics
- Green Technologies
The most popular majors at the Gdańsk University of Technology in terms of the total number of applications are as follows:
- Civil Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Power Engineering
- Engineering Management
In turn, the ministry's ranking of the top fifteen most popular majors in terms of the number of applicants per place in Poland included, among others, Design and Construction of Yachts at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology at the Gdańsk University of Technology, and the inter-faculty major Industry 5.0 Technologies (11.9 applicants per place).
In total, over 450,000 people were admitted to the first year of studies in the 2025/2026 academic year at universities supervised by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, including nearly 310,000 at public universities. Pomeranian universities received 70,190 applications, which is the fifth highest number nationally.
