The program for subsidizing publication and patent activity is part of the tasks of the BioTechMed Center at Gdańsk University of Technology (Gdańsk Tech) within the Excellence Initiative – Research University, serving to support high-quality scientific activity. The aim of the program is to support PG employees in disseminating research results through the publication of scientific articles and patent applications in line with the thematic scope of the BioTechMed Center.
The program allocation is PLN 200,000 from the BioTechMed Center budget and is intended to partially cover publication and patent application costs, in accordance with the terms and conditions set out in these regulations.
What can you gain?
- Funding may be granted to cover part of the publication or patent costs, up to a maximum of 50% of the costs, up to a maximum of PLN 10,000.
- Funding may be applied for by PG employees and PG doctoral students at the PG doctoral school whose publications:
- Have been published in journals included in the current ministerial list with a score of 70 or 100 points,
- are classified in quartile Q1 or Q2 in the relevant discipline according to the Web of Science database,
- include affiliation with the PG BioTechMed Center or, if this is not possible, information about co-financing from CBTM Gdańsk Tech funds.
Please note
The program does not cover fees for the publication of articles whose publication in OPEN ACCESS format can be fully financed under national and consortium programs listed on the PG Library website or from the indirect costs of the NCN grant. Funding also does not apply to articles in journals published by publishers that use the OPEN ACCESS business model (i.e., BioMed Central, Copernicus Publications, Dove Medical Press, Frontiers, Hindawi, MDPI, Open Library of Humanities, PLOS).
What is the project implementation period?
Applications for the program can be submitted on an ongoing basis until the program allocation is exhausted. Applications are submitted by:
- a Gdańsk Tech employee or Gdańsk Tech doctoral student who is the corresponding author of the article, in the case of a program related to publishing activity,
- a Gdańsk Tech employee who is a co-creator of a patent to which Gdańsk has property rights, in the case of a program related to patent activity.
How and when to apply for funding?
- Applications must be submitted electronically via the Grants Module in the MojaPG system.
- The IDUB Office conducts a formal evaluation and forwards the application to the Commission for evaluation.
- The Commission's decision is final and cannot be appealed.
