
Role of Mentors Outside of Gdańsk University of Technology
As part of the ENHANCE Research Internship Programme, each student carries out their research project under the supervision of two academic mentors – one from their home university and one from the host institution. Mentors from host universities play a key role in supporting students during their research internships conducted outside of Gdańsk University of Technology. Their responsibilities include, among others:
- Assisting in the preparation and clarification of research objectives and internship methodology,
- Approving and supervising the project implementation as the academic supervisor,
- Providing ongoing substantive support and consultations throughout the internship,
- Reviewing and evaluating the final internship report.
Mentors outside of Gdańsk University of Technology significantly contribute to the development of international and inter-university cooperation as well as enhancing the quality of research projects. They also support students in achieving their scientific and professional goals within their research activities.

IBM – Building Technology – NTNU:
- PhD Tao Gao
- The Building Technology research group at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), specializes in research and teaching related to the design of sustainable and functional buildings, with a special focus on building materials and the building envelope.
Current research projects include:- Advanced building materials such as insulation and phase change materials,
- Smart windows – materials synthesis, device assembly, and performance evaluation,
- Building Integrated Photovoltaics – experimental testing and performance simulation.
- The Building Technology research group at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), specializes in research and teaching related to the design of sustainable and functional buildings, with a special focus on building materials and the building envelope.
Mentors from NTNU are keen to support Master’s and PhD students interested in carrying out research internships in these fields, offering assistance for both personal and academic development.
NTNU – Geoscience and Petroleum – LowEmission Group
- PhD, Saber Mohammadi
- Postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Geoscience and Petroleum at NTNU, affiliated with the LowEmission research group. He combines academic expertise with over 13 years of industry experience, particularly in R&D project development. His mentorship focuses on sustainable technologies for the energy sector, including:
- Energy storage (hydrogen, ammonia),
- Decarbonization of offshore oil and gas production,
- Applications of AI and digitalization in energy systems,
- Nanotechnology in reservoir engineering.
- Postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Geoscience and Petroleum at NTNU, affiliated with the LowEmission research group. He combines academic expertise with over 13 years of industry experience, particularly in R&D project development. His mentorship focuses on sustainable technologies for the energy sector, including:
