PGZ SA and PGZ Military Shipyard Sp. z o. o. have signed confidentiality agreements with the Centre for Maritime Military Technologies at Gdańsk Tech, which will enable the commencement of discussions regarding the development of technologies for minimizing physical fields of ships and unmanned underwater vehicles for the benefit of the Polish Navy.
The signing of confidentiality agreements was necessary for the parties to start talks on cooperation in the implementation of projects for the Polish Navy. The details remain confidential.
– Gdańsk Tech is very keen on actively supporting the development of the Polish defense industry. We have been cooperating for many years with the Polish Navy and the Polish Armaments Group in this regard – said Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, Rector of Gdańsk Tech. – The agreement we have just signed confirms that our partnership is close and increasingly effective. I am convinced that concluding this agreement will contribute both to the efficient implementation of Navy programs and to the further development of the competencies of our specialists at the Gdańsk Tech Centre for Maritime Military Technologies.
– The Polish Armaments Group wants to participate as broadly as possible in programs for the benefit of the Polish Navy. PGZ Naval Shipyard has all the necessary competencies to take part in Navy projects. I am confident that cooperation between the domestic industry and Gdańsk Tech, which has many years of experience in ship demagnetization and measurement of their physical fields, as well as unmanned underwater technologies, will produce excellent results in the form of world-class equipment for our Navy – emphasized Sebastian Chwałek, CEO of PGZ S.A.
– PGZ Naval Shipyard has begun implementing an ambitious program to transform its infrastructure and work organization. These will enable the realization of even the most technologically advanced projects. These are programs following the Miecznik project, which – although at a very early stage – carry great development potential for the shipyard. I believe that within a few years demagnetization stations and other innovative underwater technologies will become important elements of our offer, not only for the Polish Navy – said Paweł Lulewicz, CEO of PGZ SW sp. z o.o.
Currently, the Group is implementing a number of projects in shipbuilding, repairs, servicing, and ship maintenance. In July 2021, a contract was signed for the delivery of three new surface ships for the Polish Navy as part of the "Miecznik" program.
