A meeting was held at Gdańsk University of Technology, which is the aftermath of the framework cooperation agreement concluded in July between Gdańsk Tech and Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa Stocznia Wojenna. Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, rector of Gdańsk Tech and Paweł Lulewicz, president of PGZ Stocznia Wojenna discussed specific orders that could be implemented by specialists from the Center for Security and Defense Technologies at Gdańsk Tech.

Gdańsk University of Technology has been cooperating with the Polish Navy and the Polish Armaments Group for the benefit of the Polish defense industry for many years. In July, a framework agreement was concluded between Gdańsk Tech and PGZ Stocznia Wojenna, which is another step in improving cooperation in the implementation of projects for the Polish Navy. On 8 August, a meeting was held at Gdańsk Tech, during which the details of the scope of this cooperation were discussed.

–  Gdańsk University of Technology is deeply interested in actively supporting the development of the Polish defense industry. The contract we signed strengthens our cooperation with partners in this area and will certainly increase its effectiveness. Today we have already talked about specific orders that our specialists from the Center for Security and Defense Technologies will be able to execute under contracts based on the concluded framework agreement –  said prof. Krzysztof Wilde, rector of Gdańsk University of Technology.

– The contract provides the Shipyard with trouble-free access to the advanced systems and devices offered by CTBiO, such as hydroacoustics, passive protection of ships or sonars. They are already very important for our activities for the Polish Navy, and their importance will grow with almost every new project –  be it modernization or construction of new units –  emphasized Paweł Lulewicz, president of PGZ SW sp.z o.o.

Currently, PGZ Stocznia Wojenna implements a number of projects in the field of construction, renovation, servicing and repair of ships. In July 2021, a contract was signed for the delivery of three new type surface ships for the Polish Navy under the "Miecznik" (Sword-fish) program. Not so long ago, on 24 June, a contract was concluded for the main and dock repairs of three project 207 minesweepers –  ORP Necko, ORP Nakło and ORP Mamry.

–  Due to the close and long-term cooperation of PGZ Stocznia Wojenna and Gdańsk University of Technology, the concluded contract will certainly facilitate the implementation of services and deliveries related to contracts carried out by our partner –  added Paweł Zariczny, director of CTBiO Gdańsk Tech.
