The meeting of the International Scientific Effectiveness Board (ISEB)

The meeting was attended remotely by the ISEB members: Prof. Francisco José Mora Mas, Chair of the Board (Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain), Prof. Roberto Zanino (Politecnico di Torino, Italy), Prof. Sławomir Smoleń (Hochschule Bremen, Germany), Prof. Mika Hannula (President and CEO, Tampere University of Applied Sciences, Finland) and Prof. Eugenijus Valatka (Rector, Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania). On the part of Gdańsk Tech, the meeting was attended by: Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, Rector of Gdańsk Tech, Prof. Józef Sienkiewicz, Vice-Rector for Partnerships, Prof. Janusz Nieznański, Rector's Delegate for the Development Strategy, Prof. Sławomir Milewski, Prof. Krzysztof Leja, Dr. Monika Wieczerzak and Magdalena Masa from the IDUB Office. Attending remotely was Prof. Justyna Szostak, ENHANCE+ Project Manager. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Janusz Nieznański.

Prof. Nieznański reported on the main results of the IDUB 4th Progress Review Conference which took place in Gliwice in November 2024. He summarized the assessment of the progress in the IDUB program (on a nationwide scale, not by the individual universities) by the members of international panel of experts appointed by the Minister of Science and Higher Education, and discussed the recommendations of experts regarding the final period of IDUB execution and their reflections on the upcoming final performance evaluation of the ten IDUB universities. Then there was a discussion between the ISEB members and the Gdańsk Tech participants, referring to the information and conclusions presented by Prof. Nieznański. Following the discussion, Dr. Monika Wieczerzak, Head of the IDUB Office, reported on the current progress in the IDUB program at Gdańsk Tech.

The final point of the meeting was a brief discussion on how best to implement the experts’ recommendations at Gdańsk Tech. The ISEB members undertook to submit their own recommendations as a written study. Rector Krzysztof Wilde thanked the ISEB members for their unfading commitment to the development of Gdańsk Tech and invited them to an in-person meeting at Gdańsk Tech in June this year.
