Gdańsk Tech Among the Top Higher Education Institutions in Poland
Gdańsk University of Technology also achieved notable success in the Study Program Ranking. The programs in Architecture, Environmental Engineering, and Chemical Technology were ranked first in the country in their respective categories. Other high-ranking programs include: Biotechnology (2nd place), Spatial Management (2nd place), Civil Engineering (3rd place), and Geodesy and Cartography (3rd place).
“The results of the Perspektywy University Ranking serve as an important benchmark, indicating that the actions undertaken by the University are progressing in the right direction,” stated Professor Krzysztof Wilde, Rector of Gdańsk University of Technology. “They also serve as motivation for continued and consistent efforts to enhance the quality of education, scientific research, and to strengthen Gdańsk Tech’s position both nationally and internationally. Our standing is the result of the collective work of the entire academic community—staff, doctoral students, and students—who contribute every day to the University’s development. Together, we are building an open, modern institution ready to face future challenges.”
The Perspektywy University Ranking has been conducted continuously for 26 years and is widely recognized as the most important and reputable ranking of its kind in Poland. It includes Polish academic institutions authorized to award doctoral degrees in at least one academic discipline and with a minimum of 300 full-time students. Only universities with at least two graduating cohorts were considered. The ranking is often a crucial source of information for secondary school graduates seeking the best field of study and institution. Oversight of the ranking’s quality and reliability is provided by a committee chaired by Professor Michał Kleiber, former President of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The Perspektywy 2025 Academic University Ranking was based on the following seven groups of criteria:
- Scientific effectiveness (weight: 30%)
- Scientific potential (weight: 13%)
- Internationalization (weight: 15%)
- Graduate outcomes on the labor market (weight: 12%)
- Prestige (weight: 12%)
- Teaching conditions (weight: 10%)
- Innovation (weight: 8%)

The top five institutions in the Perspektywy 2025 Academic University Ranking are: University of Warsaw, Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Warsaw University of Technology, AGH University of Science and Technology, and Gdańsk University of Technology. The University of Gdańsk ranked 11th, while the Medical University of Gdańsk was placed 12th.
In the Technical Universities Ranking, Warsaw University of Technology retained first place, followed by AGH University of Science and Technology in the second position. For the fifth consecutive year, Gdańsk University of Technology holds third place.
