Members of the “Mechanik” Student Research Club from Gdańsk University of Technology achieved 1st place in the overall classification, securing a total of nine trophies across various competition categories during the final edition of the Formula Student Netherlands 2025. This marks the team's first overall victory in seven years and constitutes the most successful season opening in the team’s history. Upcoming competitions present further opportunities to expand their collection of trophies.

Formula Student Netherlands is a prestigious international engineering competition in which student teams from around the world compete in the design, construction, and testing of formula-style race cars. This year’s edition was particularly significant, as it marked the final chapter of the event’s more than ten-year history in the Netherlands. According to organizers, the decision to end the competition was due to financial constraints.

– Victory in the Netherlands represents far more to us than a mere count of trophies. It symbolizes ten years of the team’s development and serves as proof that consistency, passion, and hard work truly yield results  said Wiktoria Sadłowska, President of the “Mechanik” Student Research Club and Leader of the PGRacing Team. – Three years ago, when we made our debut at this competition, our car did not even pass the technical inspection. Today, we return as overall champions. This demonstrates the tremendous progress we have made as a team technically, organizationally, and mentally.

The PGRacing Team’s overall victory was made possible in large part by their first-place finish in the Endurance event, the most demanding long-distance challenge, which assesses both the vehicle’s reliability and the team’s operational efficiency. This competition offers up to 325 points – the highest among all categories.

Complete List of Achievements in the Netherlands:

🥇 1st Place – Overall Classification (aggregate score across all static and dynamic events)

🥇 1st Place – Autocross (timed laps on a twisty track – evaluates handling and agility)

🥇 1st Place – Endurance (22 km long-distance race – tests vehicle reliability and team resilience)

🥇 1st Place – Efficiency (assessment of energy efficiency during Endurance – minimal fuel or energy use)

🥈 2nd Place – Engineering Design Event (ED) (evaluation of the vehicle's design and engineering decisions by technical experts)

🥈 2nd Place – Skid Pad (figure-eight track – tests lateral grip and cornering performance)

🥈 2nd Place – Acceleration (75 m straight-line sprint – evaluates drivetrain and traction)

🥉 3rd Place – Business Plan Presentation (BPP) (presentation of a business concept for the race car as a marketable product)

🥉 3rd Place – Cost & Manufacturing Design (analysis of production cost and feasibility of manufacturing processes)

Among the team's prior notable achievements are:

Victory at the Andorra competition (2018)

Podium finish in Business Plan Presentation in the Czech Republic (2024)

1st place in Engineering Design Event, also in 2024

The team shows no signs of slowing down. Following their success in the Netherlands, the team immediately traveled to Austria to compete against top teams from around the world. Upcoming plans also include competitions in the Czech Republic and Croatia.
