The 2025/2026 academic year is just around the corner! Are you ready? If you're still holding on to the last moments of summer, vacation, and carefree days, we have something to ease your transition. As every year, we’ve prepared a number of activities to make your return to our campus more enjoyable—and to help our new students begin their academic journey at Gdańsk University of Technology in a stress-free way.

A new academic year brings new opportunities and inspiration. Together with Professor Krzysztof Wilde, Rector of Gdańsk University of Technology, we warmly welcome you to our university!

Inauguration of the 2025/2026 Academic Year

Let us begin with the most important event—the formal meeting of the Senate of Gdańsk University of Technology.
This year’s official inauguration ceremony will take place on October 1st at 11:15 AM in the Main Hall of the Main Building.
You are invited to follow the event via live broadcast on the University’s YouTube channel.

Visit the Student Zone in the Hydromechanics Building

From October 1st to 3rd (9:00 AM–2:00 PM), an information point will be operating in the Student Zone located on the ground floor of the Hydromechanics building (next to the Gdańsk Tech gadget store). There you will:

  • speak with representatives of university departments, student research clubs, and student-led initiatives,
  • learn how to apply for scholarships,
  • discover mobility opportunities, including Erasmus+ exchanges.

Note! On October 1st only, we have prepared a special attraction for you: 300 lottery tickets, several tiers of prizes, and the chance to win useful Gdańsk Tech-branded gadgets.

ECO Stand 

Also on October 1st, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, we invite you to visit our ECO stand. You’ll find fresh fruit and—most importantly—shakebikes! These are stationary bikes that allow you to prepare healthy smoothies using your own muscle power. A sporty, tasty, and healthy way to kick off the new academic year!

A Festive Atmosphere on Campus

As you walk around campus, take note of the welcoming decorations—flags, banners, and a photo wall prepared especially for you.

“Long Live Science!” – Academic Year Parade

We also invite you to take part in the academic year opening parade of Pomeranian universities, held under the slogan "Long Live Science!"
The parade will take place on Saturday, October 4th, starting at the Golden Gate and ending at Artus Court in Gdańsk’s Old Town.
