On February 20, the Polish Science Gala was held at the Polish Theatre in Warsaw on the occasion of Polish Science Day. Four scientists from Gdańsk Tech received awards from the Minister of Science and Higher Education.

A team of young scientists from the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics at Gdańsk Tech stood at the top of the podium in the international project competition IMFW 2026 Filter Design Competition in Hong Kong. The competition aimed to design a band-pass microwave filter intended for 5G networks.

Preparation against a dangerous bacterium
Scientists from Gdańsk have developed a preparation intended to stop one of the more dangerous hospital bacteria. The preparation combats Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and its development was undertaken by a team combining researchers from three Gdańsk universities – Gdańsk Medical University, University of Gdańsk, and Gdańsk Tech.

On the program "Poland, what's next?" broadcast on TVP Info, a debate was held about the possibilities of "healing" the healthcare system in Poland. The discussion included students from the Tri-City academic institutions, including Gdańsk Tech.
Poultry feathers supporting hypertension and diabetes prevention
MSc Eng. Antoni Taraszkiewicz, a graduate of the Doctoral School at Gdańsk Tech, developed a method for obtaining soluble keratin hydrolysates from poultry feathers, which are a source of bioactive peptides potentially absorbable by humans. These may exhibit, among other properties, effects significant in the prevention of hypertension and diabetes.

The event aims to showcase the scientific and research potential of the faculty and create a favorable space for establishing direct contacts between representatives of the academic environment and business representatives.
