On Friday, May 29 at 5:00 PM, Gdańsk Tech will host an event combining Inka Eichelberger’s photographic exhibition “I Can’t Bear to Look” with an interactive meeting led by Wojciech Eichelberger. The event is held under the patronage of the Rector of Gdańsk Tech.

The starting point for the meeting will be the photographic exhibition by Inka Eichelberger entitled “I Cannot Look at This.” The portraits feature well-known figures from the world of art and culture, who express through their emotions and attitudes anger, sadness, tension, strength, helplessness, the need for authenticity, and opposition to what is happening in the contemporary world.

— With this exhibition, I want to contribute to breaking the divisive barriers that trouble us by depicting the feelings and attitudes common to all of us related to what is happening in the world and with the world. I hope that we will recognize ourselves and reconcile in opposition to the destruction of what is most important to us — says Inka Eichelberger.

During the exhibition, there will also be a meeting with Wojciech Eichelberger — a psychotherapist who will invite participants not to listen to a lecture, but to engage in a living encounter with emotions, relationships, and self-awareness.

— The photographic project “I Cannot Look at This” is a mirror in which everyone can see a reflection of their own feelings caused by the world’s crisis and the fading of our hopes. It can also reflect the feelings we hide from ourselves, paying the price with depression, apathy, and withdrawal. Yet looking at the portraits of many known and unknown people revealing their emotions and attitudes, it is impossible to remain indifferent. And that is the point of this project. Because changing the world must begin with becoming aware of and expressing our true feelings and needs — emphasizes Wojciech Eichelberger.

The organizers particularly encourage men to participate. The goal of the event is to create a safe space for conversation about emotions that still too often remain unexpressed. The meeting aims to be an opportunity to build a more open, attentive, and conscious academic community.

The event is organized in cooperation with the Office for Rights, Academic Values and Equal Treatment at Gdańsk Tech.

The exhibition can be viewed only on Friday, May 29, at the Eco-Innovation Center building – main hall, 5:00 PM
