On May 27, 2026, a symbolic awarding of grants took place as part of the Development Incubator program, implemented at Gdańsk Tech by the PG Business Hub in cooperation with the special purpose vehicle Excento, within the project "Science4Business – Science for Business," co-financed by the European Funds for the Modern Economy 2021–2027 program. The event brought together representatives from the academic community, business sector, and laureates of projects with implementation potential, which will be developed with the support of the obtained funding.
The event was hosted by Aleksandra Kocińska from the PG Biznes Hub team, and the summary of milestones achieved so far in the project was presented by Artur Rorzkowski, project manager of the Development Incubator. Symbolic checks with the amount of granted funding were handed over to representatives of the scientific teams by Paweł Lulewicz, General Director of PG Biznes Hub, and Piotr Kaliszczuk, President of Excento.
The Science4Business program supports the development of innovative technologies and the building of lasting cooperation between the scientific community and industry. In the first call for proposals conducted at Gdańsk Tech, as many as 27 applications were submitted, of which 18 scientific projects were qualified for funding.
An important part of the event was the presentation by Jakub Kaszuba, President of Base Group sp. z o.o., a member of the University Council operating under the Rector of Gdańsk Tech, titled “How to Develop Technology That Business Wants to Implement?”. The speaker shared experiences related to the development of technological innovations and inspired scientists to seek solutions addressing specific business problems. Attention was drawn to the importance of rapid testing of solutions, readiness to verify hypotheses, and building competitive advantage through technological development.
During the gala, in addition to the symbolic handing over of vouchers to representatives of the 18 scientific teams, 6 presentations of selected projects from the group of grant recipients were held. The creators, taking into account business expectations, answered questions: what challenge does their technology solve? What is the essence of the solution and what distinguishes it compared to the competition? What benefits does the technology bring to the user? This presentation format allowed a wider audience to become acquainted with the solutions and emphasized the role of practical application of research results.
The event was also an opportunity for integration between the academic community and entrepreneurs, as well as the exchange of experiences related to the commercialization of innovations and building a modern knowledge-based economy.
