Gdańsk Tech once again among the world’s top universities in QS World University Rankings
QS World University Rankings is one of the world’s most prestigious and most frequently cited rankings of higher education institutions. In the 2027 edition, 8,808 universities from 106 countries were analysed, with the top 1,504 institutions ultimately included in the ranking.
The ranking methodology is based on five main assessment areas:
- Research and Discovery – 50%, comprising Academic Reputation (30%) and Citations per Faculty (20%);
- Employability and Outcomes – 20%, comprising Employer Reputation (15%) and Employment Outcomes (5%);
- Global Engagement – 15%, comprising International Faculty (5%), International Research Network (5%) and International Students (5%);
- Learning Experience – 10%, measured by the Faculty Student Ratio indicator;
- Sustainability – 5%, assessing universities’ activities in the area of sustainable development.
An important element of the QS methodology is the global reputation surveys conducted among members of the academic community and employers. Together, the Academic Reputation and Employer Reputation indicators account for 45% of a university’s final score in the ranking.
Maintaining its position in the 801–850 band for the third consecutive year confirms Gdańsk University of Technology’s stable standing among the world’s leading universities, as well as its strong position in Poland and among Polish technical universities.
