Gdańsk Tech ranks among the highest-rated Polish universities in the THE Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026
The Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ratings, formerly known as the THE Impact Rankings, assess universities on their impact on delivering the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Factors taken into account include, among others, activities in research, education, engagement with the socio-economic environment, university governance and the implementation of measures supporting sustainable development.
In this year’s edition, the Gdańsk University of Technology submitted data on 12 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. It ranked highest in SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, being placed in the 101–200 range.
Gdańsk Tech also ranked high in the following categories:
SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure – 201–300 range
SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities – 201–300 range
SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation – 201–300 range
SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy – 301–400 range
SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production – 301–400 range
In the other SDGs, the Gdańsk University of Technology ranked as follows:
SDG 5: Gender Equality – 401–600 range
SDG 13: Climate Action – 401–600 range
SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions – 401–600 range
SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals – 401–600 range
SDG 4: Quality Education – 601–800 range
SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being – 801–1000 range
The 2026 edition ranked 1,646 higher education institutions from 116 countries and territories. The Gdańsk University of Technology’s ranking confirms its consistent commitment to sustainable development — through research and education, collaboration with external partners and the implementation of solutions that address contemporary social, economic and environmental challenges.
