The academic and student government tradition in the form of the annual parade of Pomeranian universities under the slogan "Long Live Science!" will return on October 10th. This year’s edition is hosted by the Daniel Fahrenheit Union of Universities in Gdańsk, for the first time in an expanded format, and the City of Gdańsk.
The joint Gdańsk academic year opening will take place for the fifth time. For years it has brought together representatives of the scientific and artistic community, local government officials, and residents, emphasizing the importance of cooperation for the development of the region and responsible use of scientific potential.
For the first time, the organizers will participate in an expanded composition. To the Medical University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk Tech, and the University of Gdańsk, which form the Daniel Fahrenheit Association of Universities in Gdańsk, the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk and the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk have joined.
The authorities of the Association emphasize that the expansion of its composition is the next stage of cooperation development. An example of this is the regularly held Pomeranian Academy of Public Space Planning. The universities have jointly supported and will continue to support the activities of local governments for the metropolitan union in the Pomeranian Voivodeship.
The parade will proceed along the Royal Route
The higher education parade, scheduled for October 10, will start at 11:00 am at the Golden Gate and end at the doorstep of the Artus Court. There, brief speeches by representatives of authorities and students are planned.
The parade will be accompanied by artistic groups, university choirs, and musical accompaniment by the Gdańsk Academic Orchestra.
