The Pupil Can Reveal How Our Memory Works
Researchers from Gdańsk Tech, Czech Technical University in Prague, and Mayo Clinic examined whether changes in pupil size can be an indicator of memory processes occurring in the brain. The co-author of the study is Prof. Michał Kucewicz from the BioTechMed Centre at Gdańsk Tech.
The results indicate that observing changes in pupil size may help predict the effectiveness of memorizing and recalling information. The study was conducted with patients suffering from drug-resistant epilepsy, and the findings were published in the journal Scientific Reports.
