Next call for applications under Individual Research Studies (5.10-28.10) and the RADIUM program (5.10-25.11)

Radium
Individual Research Studies, hereafter referred to as ISB, enables the creation of individual training paths for the most talented second-level students in conjunction with their research under research projects.

Under the RADIUM Program, it is possible to obtain a university grant to finance the costs of ongoing research by second-level students in Individual Research Studies. 


The ISB and the RADIUM program are part of the implementation of IDUB's tasks to improve the quality of education of students and doctoral students, especially in majors and scientific disciplines related to the university's priority research areas, Measure III.1. (Modification of the education system for first and second degree studies). 
The next edition of the ISB and RADIUM program is planned from the summer semester of the 2022/2023 academic year.

Addresses of the program

An undergraduate student may apply himself or herself, or may be applied, for example, by a dean, mentor, research supervisor or the head of a project in which he or she has participated or is currently participating.
Eligibility criteria
The Evaluation Committee considers the following criteria when evaluating ISB applications:
(a) track record of past involvement in scientific activities, such as.
(b) publications, participation/references at conferences, participation in scientific projects, active
(c) activity in scientific circles,
(d) grade on diploma thesis/diploma project,
e) grade point average from first degree program,
f) recommendations/letters of recommendation,
g) motivation letter,
h) interview.

Budget and funding conditions  

The condition for participation in the RADIUM Program is that the Applicant obtains prior approval from the Vice-Rector for Education for the implementation of the ISB, in accordance with the Regulations for Individual Research Studies.
The maximum amount of funding for a research project is PLN 24,000 gross, and the period of its implementation is no longer than 10 months.

What cost categories can be planned in the project?

Grants awarded as a result of the competition may finance:

  • costs of purchasing small laboratory equipment, materials necessary for conducting research, non-perishable materials, including reagents, 
  • costs of IT equipment and software necessary for the implementation of research,
  • extraneous services necessary for research implementation,
  • costs related to dissemination of research, including, in particular, travel and subsistence expenses, publication fees, costs of participation in conferences.

How to apply?

  • The ISB application is submitted electronically at isb@pg.edu.pl between October 5 and October 28, 2022 at 11:59 pm. 
  • Applications should be sent from your student account (@student.pg.edu.pl). The original application should be submitted to the Vice Chancellor for Education.
  • The call for applications under the RADIUM program will run from October 5 to November 25, 2022, 11:59 p.m. Applications should be submitted electronically at radium@pg.edu.pl. 
  • Submitted applications are subject to evaluation by an Evaluation Committee appointed by the Rector. The Rector will make the final decision on awarding the grant.
