The 31st Seminar of Advanced Materials Center
We cordially invite you to the 31st seminar of the Advanced Materials Centre, which will take place on June 2, 2025 (Monday) at 1:15 p.m. in the EA Auditorium 1 (building 41, ETI A).
The guest of the Advanced Materials Centre, Dr. Maryna Meretska, is a leader of the Optical Metasurfaces at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany. She will present a lecture entitled "Passive and Active Optical metasurfaces and its applications".
Dr. Maryna Meretska received her master's in Quantum Computing from Delft University of Technology in 2013 and her doctoral degree from the University of Twente in 2018, where she was working on developing white LED technologies. Next, she received the Rubicon fellowship to work on her research ideas at Harvard and in 2024, she received an Emmy Noether grant to establish her group at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany.
Her knowledge spans from computational methods for forward and inverse modelling of optical nanostructures to designing optical devices and systems employing ray tracing techniques. She leverages cutting-edge nanofabrication facilities to establish workflows for creating metaoptic components. Her group is working on the development of passive and active metasurface technologies. She published manuscripts in major peer-reviewed scientific journals, including Science, Nature Communications, Nature Photonics, including work on compact optical metasurface for detection CO2 concentration.
After the seminar, we traditionally invite you for pizza!
