Results of Academic Ranking of World Universities 2023 | Gdańsk University of Technology

ARWU ranked universities by several academic or research performance indicators:

- Alumni and Staff of an institution  winning Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals,

- HiCi (Highly Cited Researchers)

- N&S (Papers published in Nature and Science),

- PUB (Papers indexed in Science Citation Index-Expanded and Social Science Citation Index),

-PCP (Per capita academic performance of an institution).

The best universities in the world in ARWU 2023 are Harvard University (1st place), Stanford University (2nd place) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (3rd place).

Among Polish universities, ARWU ranked nine institutions in 2023. In the 901-1000 range, apart from Gdansk University of Technology, were Adam Mickiewicz University, Medical University of Warsaw, Nicolaus Copernicus University and Warsaw University of Technology. Wroclaw Medical University and AGH University of Science and Technology ranked in the world's top 9 hundred universities. The highest positions took Jagiellonian University and University of Warsaw (range 401-500).
