Wentyl_EDU — where education meets business
Wentyl_EDU is a new initiative developed as a twin project to Wentyl_HR, but with a slightly different goal – to create a space for dialogue between the world of education and business. The event was initiated by the team at Talent Attraction Invest in Pomerania, which successfully demonstrated that these two worlds can inspire and support each other.
The event took place within the welcoming walls of the Gdańsk University of Technology, with the support of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology and the Career Office of Gdańsk Tech. Attendees came from numerous universities and companies, including WSB Merito University, University of Gdańsk, Medical University of Gdańsk, PJATK, Kainos, Capgemini, ISS, and OPEC.
Part 1: Speed Networking and Workshops
The event began with so-called "speed dating" – modern networking sessions brilliantly moderated by Joanna Nalepa. Simultaneously, students participated in strength-based career counseling workshops led by Anna Dukowska and Honorata Sądel.
Part 2: Inspiring Talks
In the second part of the event, participants had the opportunity to listen to talks from experts and practitioners. Speakers included:
- 🎤 Karolina Majowicz-Prager and Michał Rudnicki – on long-term cooperation between education and business,
- 🎤Aleksandra Drelicharz – from the ENHANCE Office, who presented opportunities for collaboration between universities and business, including specific offers for students, academic staff, and early-career researchers,
- 🎤Marek Wójcikowski – representing the Department of Microelectronic Systems at Gdańsk Tech,
- 🎤Karolina Okrój from the SimLE Student Research Group – who presented passionate student initiatives that surprised and inspired many.
ENHANCE – Support for Staff and Early-Career Researchers
In her presentation, Aleksandra Drelicharz outlined the goals of the ENHANCE alliance and its new project, ENHANCE+. She introduced specific offers for various groups within the academic community:
- For university staff – upskilling and reskilling initiatives, with a particular focus on employees with limited access to development opportunities,
- For early-career researchers – the VP Research program combined with the Young Researchers' Day, ENHANCE research internships, and a mentoring programme.
The presentation attracted significant interest, showcasing real opportunities for synergy between academia and business, and for supporting professional and scientific development.
"I had the pleasure of participating as a speaker at the Wentyl_EDU meeting – a space for dialogue between education and business 💬. Just like Wentyl_HR by Paweł Nowakowski, this initiative brings people together – but this time it focuses on how the worlds of academia and business can truly intersect and support one another. So much inspiration, great conversations, and positive energy! 🙌"
– Aleksandra Drelicharz, ENHANCE Office, Gdańsk University of Technology
We would like to express our sincere thanks to all partners and participants of the event, and especially to Joanna Jettmar-Fojut and Monika Downar for their invaluable organizational support.
📅 The next edition of Wentyl_EDU is coming this spring – in a brand-new location!
See you there,
