Peer-to-Peer Learning

Would you like to gain knowledge directly from your peers at other European universities, travel abroad, and earn additional ECTS credits? The ENHANCE Peer-to-Peer Learning programme enables students and doctoral candidates to independently design and deliver international, intensive academic courses.
"We learn from one another. Student societies or informal groups design a course, invite peers from partner universities to their institution or travel to a foreign university themselves, all under the guidance of a supervisor (mentor) who ensures academic quality and validates the learning outcomes."
ENHANCE Peer-to-Peer Learning Programme
Where can you go, or whom can you invite?
The programme supports exchange and cooperation with the following universities within the ENHANCE alliance:
- Chalmers University of Technology (Chalmers) – Sweden
- Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich (ETH Zurich) – Switzerland
- Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) – Norway
- Politecnico di Milano (PoliMi) – Italy
- Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen (RWTH Aachen) – Germany
- Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin) – Germany
- Technische Universiteit Delft (TU Delft) – The Netherlands
- Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) – Spain
- École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers (ENSAM) – France
Key Programme Rules
- Mandatory Physical Mobility
Collaborative learning cannot take place entirely online. Each course must include a compulsory on-site component lasting 3 to 5 days at the host university. Participants receive financial support for mobility in the form of a travel grant (travel allowance + daily subsistence grant). - Peer-to-Peer Learning
Courses are co-created and co-delivered by students for students. The programme is intended for members of student scientific societies, student unions, doctoral councils, or informal student groups carrying out documented academic or technical projects. Participant groups must consist of 2 to 10 members. - Finding a Mentor (Academic Validation)
Projects cannot be carried out without academic supervision. To ensure that the achieved learning outcomes are recognised and validated by the university, participants must appoint a mentor / academic coordinator. This is a member of academic staff who approves the academic content outlined in the Course Card and, upon completion of the project, assesses the acquired knowledge, reviews the report/project, and signs the certificate. - ECTS Credit Allocation Rules
The total student workload (independent study, online work, and in-person activities during mobility) must amount to 30 to 150 hours, corresponding to 1 to 6 ECTS credits. Successful completion requires approval of the learning outcomes by the mentor and submission of an appropriate report or completed project.
How to Organise It Step by Step
- Build a Team: Gather a group of students from your scientific society or project team at Gdańsk University of Technology (or another ENHANCE partner university).
- Contact Partners: Establish contact with a group sharing similar interests at one of the ENHANCE alliance universities.
- Design the Course and Find a Mentor:
- Define the project topic or training subject area.
- Identify an academic staff member willing to act as a mentor (coordinator) responsible for validating the learning outcomes.
- Complete the Intensive Course Card together, describing the objectives, learning outcomes, and assessment methods.
- Submit the Project to the ENHANCE Office: Submit a joint application together with the Course Card, the Dean’s approval, and consent for ECTS recognition/individual study programme arrangements. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
- Carry Out the Mobility and Learn: Travel to your partners’ institution (or invite them to Gdańsk). Deliver the planned workshops, in-person sessions, and consultations.
- Validation and ECTS Credits: Upon completion, present the outcomes of your work to the mentor (e.g., a project report or presentation). Following successful assessment, the mentor signs the Certificate (Annex 3), which serves as the basis for awarding ECTS credits.
