The Safety and Defense Technologies Centre of Gdańsk Tech and Remontowa Shiprepair Yard S.A. have signed a framework agreement on close cooperation. The signing is the next step in streamlining the long-standing collaboration between the two institutions in the implementation of projects for the Polish Navy.

The parties to the agreement signed a contract on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, in the Senate Hall of Gdańsk Tech. The signatories of the document were: Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, Rector of Gdańsk Tech, and Monika Kozakiewicz, Acting President of the Management Board of Stocznia Remontowa Nauta S.A.

“Active support for the development of the Polish defense industry is one of the priorities of Gdańsk Tech,” said Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, Rector of Gdańsk Tech, during the meeting. “Our university has extensive experience in this area, but we are continuously working on further enhancing the competencies and capabilities of our scientists and units contributing to this effort. The partnership between Gdańsk Tech and Stocznia Remontowa Nauta already has a rich history, but we intend to deepen this cooperation even further.”

“The agreement concluded today is the culmination of many years of joint activities in the field of security and defense technologies,” said Monika Kozakiewicz. “Based on the concluded agreement, especially in the implementation of works related to passive ship protection systems and hydroacoustic systems, we count on the support of specialists from the Gdańsk Tech Center for Security and Defense Technologies and a fruitful continuation of our long-term cooperation.”

Currently, SR Nauta S.A. is executing, as part of a consortium with Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A. and PGZ Stocznia Wojenna, an agreement concluded on June 24 this year for the major and dock repairs of three Project 207 minesweepers – OORP Necko, Nakło, and Mamry. ORP Nakło is scheduled to join SR NAUTA S.A. in October this year.
