The 2026 Polish Academic Championships are becoming history. After 6 years of dominance and championship titles, Gdańsk Tech has solidified its strong position on the national stage and secured second place in this year's edition of the "AMPs." Additionally, we remained on the podium in the medal standings, winning 16 gold, 13 silver, and 17 bronze medals this year.
The 2026 Polish Academic Championships are becoming history. After 6 years of dominance and championship titles, Gdańsk Tech has solidified its strong position on the national stage and secured second place in this year's edition of the "AMPs." Additionally, we remained on the podium in the medal standings, winning 16 gold, 13 silver, and 17 bronze medals this year.
In the 2025/26 academic year, the “amps” competition was held in 48 disciplines, with participation from 130 universities across the country. Gdańsk Tech’s teams competed once again in all available categories, including kickboxing, which made its debut in the series. The only other institution to achieve this was Jagiellonian University in Kraków.
In the overall classification, our university scored 2028 points. The winning University of Warsaw had 8 points more (2036), while AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków accumulated 1971 points.
This season, Gdańsk Tech’s teams collectively won 16 medals in the general classification and 30 in technical classifications.
In the “general” ranking, the top podium positions were secured by teams in women’s and men’s cross-country running, shooting, and both women’s and men’s tennis. The silver medals were won by the sports aerobics team, badminton players, female and male athletes, rowers, sailors, and Gdańsk Tech representatives in the rowing ergometer event. Bronze medals went to karatekas, kickboxers, basketball players, and table tennis players.
In the team classification for technical universities, gold medals were awarded to sports aerobics, badminton, women’s and men’s cross-country running, kickboxing, women’s and men’s rowing ergometer, male and female track and field athletes, women’s handball, female swimmers, shooting, women’s and men’s tennis, table tennis, rowing, and sailing. Silver medals were awarded to karatekas, basketball players, beach volleyball players, female snowboarders, fencers, and female Gdańsk Tech athletes in sport climbing. Bronze medals were earned by bridge teams, women’s and men’s 3x3 basketball, women’s football, snowboarders, female table tennis players, and triathletes.
In the medal tally, gold medals were won by the trio Aleksandra Siruts, Kaja Kowalczyk, Sandra Wikarska, Daria Domżalska in the 6 km run, and Dariusz Boratyński in the 9 km run, as well as the Mixed relay in the lineup of Domżalska/Serkowski/Liebenthal/Boratyński, Wiktor Błach in the lightweight rowing ergometer category, athlete Mikołaj Pyszka in the 200 m run, shooters Oskar Miliwek in the 10 m air pistol and in the 20 m rapid-fire pistol 2x30m, and Maciej Kowalewicz in the 10 m air rifle, 10 m rifle three positions, and 50 m rifle 60 prone events, rower Zuzanna Jasińska in the single scull and double scull with Katarzyna Duda, tennis players, and the women’s Gdańsk Tech crew in rowing composed of Bulińska/Czerwińska/Jasińska/Domalska.
Silver medals were achieved by soloist Dawid Łuszcz, badminton players, Szymon Stankiewicz in the rowing ergometer, karateka Jan Szczepkowski in men’s kumite -67kg, and the Gdańsk Tech team in team kumite comprising Marek Gontarski, Bartosz Janusz, Jan Szczepkowski, and Piotr Wyganowski, javelin thrower Jonasz Mertka, Paulina Ligarska in the long jump, Cezar Sidya in the high jump, snowboarder Iwo Gogołkiewicz in the banked slalom, shooter Oskar Miliwek in the 50 m free pistol event, fencer Piotr Kaśków in the foil, rowers in the 4xMix relay comprising Bulińska/Błach/Duda/Stankiewicz, sailors Patryk Kosmalski, Tomasz Lewandowski, and Karolina Żurek.
Bronze medals were awarded to the duo Marcelina Dulak, Weronika Kowalczyk, Wojciech Serkowski running the 4.5 km event, and Julia Liebenthal in the 6 km run; karatekas Daniela Holk in kumite -68kg, Damian Nowakowski in kumite -67kg, Filip Pudlak in kumite -84kg, and Piotr Wyganowski and Patryk Kobus in kumite +84kg; basketball players; the 4x400 m women’s sprint relay team composed of Pyszka/Kaczkowska/Gostomczyk/Paradowska; javelin thrower Magdalena Banasiewicz; Martyna Konieczko in the high jump; Joanna Bujarowicz in the long jump; Mateusz Helman in the shot put; the beach volleyball pair Piotr Ilewicz/Samuel Wróbel; the “eight” with coxswain lineup consisting of Jasińska/Bulińska/Klucznik/Duda/Czerwińska/Domalska/Rodziewicz/Beyer-Wróblewska/Stankiewicz; and the table tennis team.
Additionally, countless medals were earned by our representatives in the Technical Universities classification!
