The Academic Choir of Gdańsk Tech won the 61st International Choral Song Festival named after Prof. Jan Szyrocki in Międzyzdroje. The ensemble was awarded the Festival's Grand Prix, the highest distinction of the event, and a nomination for the 2026 Grand Prix of Polish Choral Art named after Prof. Stefan Stuligrosz. This is the third Grand Prix they have received this year.

During the festival, the Gdańsk Tech Choir also won 1st place and the Gold Diploma in the Musica Sacra category, 1st place and the Gold Diploma in the Mixed Choirs category, as well as a special award for the best performance of a contemporary Polish composer's work – “Bibi, Synku bi” by Anna Rocławska-Musiałczyk.

This year’s success grants the ensemble the right to participate in the Grand Prix of Polish Choral Music 2026 in Poznań, known as the "competition of competitions," where the winners of the most prestigious choral festivals in the country meet.

The International Choral Song Festival named after Prof. Jan Szyrocki is the oldest choral festival in Poland and, since 1966, has been one of the most important events in Polish choral culture.
