Gdańsk Tech among the top technical universities in Poland | Gdańsk University of Technology

Times Higher Education weekly has published the latest World University Rankings 2023. The ranking is compiled based on 5 pillars, each representing a key area of higher education excellence: teaching, research, citations, industry revenue and international outlook.

This year's edition ranked nearly 1,800 universities from 104 countries, including 32 from Poland. for the 2023 edition, more than 121 million citations from more than 15.5 million research publications were analyzed and survey responses from 40,000 researchers from around the world were included.

Globally, the University of Oxford topped the ranking for the seventh consecutive year, while Harvard University remains in second place. The world's top technical universities remain Massachusetts Institute of Technology and CalTech.

Gdansk Tech was ranked among the top ten universities in Poland, in the range between 1201st and 1500th place. Technical universities such as the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow and the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice were ranked in the same bracket of the global ranking. In the classification of our University, the highest ranking was given to the criterion "Industry income", calculated as the ratio of industry income to the number of academic staff.

In this year's edition of the ranking, high places were taken by medical universities, in the Medical University of Gdansk.

A place in the 1201-1500 range was also taken by the University of Gdansk, while a place in the 801-1000 range was taken by the Medical University of Gdansk. The Gdansk University of Technology cooperates with both universities within the Union of Universities in Gdańsk Daniel Fahrenheit
