Results of the QS World University Rankings 2024

In the 20th jubilee ranking edition of the best universities from around the world, Gdańsk University of Technology was placed in range 851-900, achieving the 6th result among 22 Polish universities classified in the ranking.

This year's QS World University Rankings, presenting the best universities from around the world, covered 104 countries and analyzed the data of 2963 universities. In the ranking universities were valuated and only 1,499 the best universities were finally classified according to the standards (including 83 new universities).

The latest edition of the ranking has implemented significant changes in the methodology (three new indicators have been presented and the % shares of the existing indicators have been changed). Gdańsk Tech achieved the total result of 13.0 points, which still places us in the TOP 57% of universities in the world.

Similarly to last year's edition, Gdańsk Tech obtained the best result in the "Faculty / Student Ratio" area, which analyzes academic teachers per 100 students, which gives us 437th place in the global ranking for the given indicator. The great success of Gdańsk Tech is also obtaining the best result among all Polish universities in terms of the indicator: "Citations per Faculty", i.e. the number of citations per NA.

The total number of Polish universities that were qualified for this year's edition of the ranking was 22. The leader among Polish universities is still the University of Warsaw, which was ranked 262nd in the global ranking.

The result obtained by the university in the report is based on 9 indicators:

• Academic reputation survey – indicator weight: 30 %

• Reputation survey among employers - 15%

• Number of academic teachers per student - 10%

• Number of citations per scientist - 20%

• % share of academic teachers from abroad - 5%

• % share of foreign students - 5%

(new indicator) Employment rate of graduates and their income - 5%

(new indicator) The level of internationalization of the university's research network - 5%

(new indicator) Sustainable development- 5%
