About The Team
The Young Researchers Team was originally named the Team for monitoring the conditions for development and research conducted by young researchers. It was appointed by prof. K. Wilde, rector, in July 2022 to remove barriers that limit the development and hinder the work of young researchers at Gdańsk Tech.
Team is an advisory body for the Rector's College and is involved in the implementation of tasks in the IDUB project, m.in. related to the management of the activities of young researchers and the resolution of conflicts of interest arising between young researchers and their scientific environment.
The team conducts periodic surveys among young researchers, participates in the planning and implementation of activities under the HR4R Gdańsk Tech Strategy, is involved in various university activities, such as the Enhance+ project. Representatives of the Team actively develops solutions pressing needs and propose improvements to improve working conditions and development of not only young researchers. To this end, the members of the Team with commitment organize meetings, debates in their organizational units, as well as with the authorities of the University and representatives of the central and university administration.
Scope of activities
The Team represents the interests of about 900 Young Gdańsk Tech Researchers, i.e. PhD students and academic staff, who do not have a doctoral degree or who have it less than 7 years since obtaining it.
Scope of responsibility of the Team:
- Participation in the identification of barriers that may limit the optimal development of young researchers at Gdańsk Tech.
- Preparation of solutions proposals that liquidate and monitor barriers.
- Participation in monitoring the conditions of research conducted by young researchers.
- Cooperation with doctoral students and employees of organizational units and university authorities and representatives of central and university-wide administration in planning and implementing tasks within the HR4R and IDUB strategies.
The Team works under the supervision of vice-rector for research, prof. Dariusz Mikielewicz.
