Strategy for implementing the SDG and USR
Gdańsk University of Technology actively participates in implementation of the Declaration of University Social Responsibility (USR) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) set out in the Resolution adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN).
Sustainable development is a long-term process that requires activity in a number of areas, including science, teaching and organization. As a university, we are aware of the importance of getting involved in these areas - says Prof. Dariusz Mikielewicz, Vice-Rector for Organization and Development. Therefore, we disseminate, inspire, provide knowledge and motivate students, PhD students, employees, the local community and the socioeconomic environment to work towards sustainable development and social responsibility, which constitutes our mission in the Strategy.
Bearing in mind the importance of implementing the sustainable development goals and the principles of social responsibility, Gdansk University of Technology has decided to increase its activity in this area. Consequently, the University developed and implemented the Sustainable Development Goals and University Social Responsibility 2023-2030 strategy. The document contains a coherent action plan in six areas that correspond to the sustainable development foundations constituted by people, planet, prosperity, world peace and partnership.
