The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), adopted by the United Nations Member States, in practice are an invitation and obligation of all partner countries to engage in activities for the benefit of the society, environment and economy. The aim is to provide prosperity and better quality of life for present and future generations. Simultaneously to realization of the 17 SDG agenda, Gdańsk University of Technology has implemented the rules provided for in the Declaration of University Social Responsibility (USR) since 2017. 

As a university, we are aware of the importance of getting involved in these areas. We disseminate, inspire, provide knowledge and motivate students, PhD students, employees, the local community and the socioeconomic environment to work towards sustainable development and social responsibility.

The Sustainable Development Goals and University Social Responsibility 2023-2030 strategy (hereinafter referred to as the Strategy), developed by Gdańsk University of Technology  Is a uniform action plan for the following 6 areas: 

  1. responsibility and values
  2. engagement of Gdańsk Tech community
  3. equality and diversity
  4. education
  5. initiatives for communities outside Gdańsk Tech
  6. campus friendly to people and the environment.

These areas correspond to the Sustainable Development foundations constituted by people, planet, prosperity, world peace and partnership.


Planned activities within the Strategy will be regularly monitored and verified.
