The Young Researchers Office is currently substantively supporting the implementation of two projects under the European Funds for Social Development for 2021-2027 (FERS), i.e.
Studia 5.0
Study programs for key sectors of the domestic industry (financing agreement number: FERS.01.05-IP.08-0027/23-00, with a total value of PLN 6,984,910.55).
The aim of the project is to better adapt the educational offer of Gdańsk University of Technology to the needs of economic development and green and digital transformation by October 2026.
1) Modification of master studies in the aerospace, renewable energy and transport industries, i.e.:
- TRANSPORT, specialties: 1. Planning and management of the transport system, 2. Intelligent transport systems, 3. Rail transport infrastructure;
- CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY, specialties: 1.Renewable energy technologies;
- POWER ENGINEERING, specialties: 1. Distributed energy technologies, 2. Nuclear energy;
- MATERIALS ENGINEERING, specialties: 1. Engineering of functional materials for renewable energy;
- SPACE AND SATELLITE TECHNOLOGIES, specialties: 1.Information and telecommunications technologies in space and satellite engineering, 2. Engineering and Management of Space Systems.
2) Improving the competences of 142 students (training, additional classes with internships, study visits, compensatory classes).
3) Development of competences of 49 Gdańsk Tech academic teachers in the field of digital competences (related to modified fields of study and artificial intelligence), development of awareness and skills for green transformation (related to modified fields of study, online course on sustainable development) and universal design.
4) Activities supporting candidates to make an informed choice of studies.
Kadra 5.0
Development of competences of academic staff and doctoral students (financing agreement number: FERS.01.05-IP.08-0102/23-00, with a total value of PLN 1,744,904.11).
The aim of the project is to obtain or improve the competences or qualifications of 88 academic staff and 11 Gdańsk Tech PhD students in the field of teaching, digital and green transformation competences and qualifications by October 2025.
1) Trainings, workshops, study visits in the field of digital, digital-didactic, didactic, green transformation and other substantive (e.g. language) competences.
2) Participation in study visits of staff involved in the education of doctoral students.
3) Development and implementation of a support program for academic staff and doctoral students in building a key competence useful in the VUCA world, i.e. growth mindset.
4) Development and implementation of a tutoring program for academic staff and doctoral students.
5) Individual and group coaching of academic staff and doctoral students.
Universities of the future
Gdańsk University of Technology successfully passed the rigorous recruitment procedure in the competition announced by the National Center for Research and Development (NCBR) and was selected among 12 universities that will be leaders in changing the education system for first-cycle studies.
The project will develop and implement an innovative model of personalized education, an alternative to traditional education, based on students' original projects, cooperation with the socio-economic environment and developing key competences of the future. The changed education system will be tested until the end of 2028.
