On March 26 this year, another edition of the Young Researchers Forum titled 'Publication Pathways: Choosing the Right Journal for Your Research' took place in the Main Building of Gdańsk University of Technology. The event gathered a large group of early-career researchers interested in developing their skills in publishing scientific results.

The meeting focused on one of the key stages of academic work - selecting an appropriate journal for publication. During the Forum, participants had the opportunity to learn about issues related to analyzing journal metrics such as the impact factor, quartiles, and ministerial scoring, as well as the peer-review process and article acceptance rates.

Topics also included publishing models, such as open access and hybrid solutions. In addition, available tools and resources supporting the journal selection process were discussed, including library resources and platforms such as MOST Wiedzy. Participants also learned more about procedures related to publication registration and the reward system in place at the University.

The meeting had a practical character. In addition to the substantive part, time was also allocated for questions and discussion, enabling direct interaction with the speakers and the exchange of experiences.

The session was led by Dr. Eng. Krzysztof Wołoszyk and M.Sc. Eng. Arch. Mariya-Veronika Mochulska.

The Forum was moderated by M.Sc. Eng. Arch. Kareem Ayyad.
