Call for Proposals in OPUS 29 and PRELUDIUM 24 Competitions Now Open

The National Science Centre (NCN) has announced a call for proposals in the OPUS 29 and PRELUDIUM 24 competitions, aimed at researchers conducting projects in the field of basic research. The total budget for these calls is PLN 600 million.
OPUS 29 – Grants for Researchers at All Career Stages

The OPUS 29 competition provides an opportunity to secure funding for research projects lasting 12, 24, 36, or 48 months. This program is open to all researchers, regardless of their academic degree, and projects can be carried out independently or in international collaboration.

Applicants have the opportunity to:
🠖 obtain funding without a budget cap, provided that the cost estimate is justified by the scope of the research,
🠖 carry out projects in research institutions in Poland,
🠖 collaborate with foreign scientific institutions or use large-scale international research facilities,
🠖 access a total OPUS 29 budget of PLN 550 million.


PRELUDIUM 24 – Support for Early-Career Researchers

PRELUDIUM 24 is designed for individuals without a doctoral degree who wish to start their scientific journey and carry out their first independent research project. The competition offers grants of PLN 70,000, PLN 140,000, or PLN 210,000, depending on the planned duration of the project (12, 24, or 36 months).

Key Features:
🠖 The research team may consist of up to three members – the project leader, and optionally one researcher and a scientific supervisor,
🠖 The budget covers salaries, the purchase of research equipment, software, external research services, and travel expenses,
🠖 The total funding available for PRELUDIUM 24 is PLN 50 million.

 
How and When to Submit Applications?

📅 Submission Period: March 21 – June 17, 2025, 16:00 (CET)
📍 Where to Apply? Through the OSF system

Proposals are evaluated in two stages by expert panels and external reviewers. The final results will be announced within six months after the submission deadline, but no later than December 2025.
